Done

So yea, I've decided I know longer care who knows I'm gay, so anybody who wants to is free to speak openly about it. I'm done with this whole closet thing now, so whatever. Wow, short post. Hmm, I should go come out to my family now, shouldn't I?

Mucho Tiempo

Wow, it's been quite a while since I posted anything here. I guess it just hasn't been on my mind, what with the musical (Pippin, which goes up Wednesday[today is Sunday]) looming ever closer and the humanities project about the USSR on Tuesday (full 70 minute presentation, agh), I guess I've just been concentrating a lot on my linguistics hobby rather than the things I should be doing. But I wouldn't want to get rediculously stressed, and Pippin is good and the USSR presentation should be half decent so it's all good. But like I said I've been concentrating on my linguistics hobby.

Linguistics is, quite naturally, the study of language. It just so happens that languages fascinate me so I'd like to learn more about them. Now, I've never really been one for the dry, soulless textbook approach, so it would seem that this would be difficult to learn about, but lucky for me there is a thriving community of other linguistic enthusiasts on the internet that I have found. These people explore their interest in linguistics by creating languages which we call conlangs (constructed languages, we also add the "con" prefix to anything else we have created in relation to our conlangs and conworlds) usually for use by cultures within our conworlds.
My conworld doesn't have a name yet (if you want to see a really developed one check out Virtual Verduria on www.zompist.com) but I'm working slowly, I'm starting with a single language and culture, that of the "primitives" (this is just a label bestowed upon them by colonial nations in my conworld). Last night I finished translating the Babel Text (Genesis 11:1-9) into Proto-Coim (proto because it was spoken by the ancestors of the primitives and coim because that is the proto-coim word for tongue) although I decided I didn't like my Genitive and Accusative cases so those will have to be fixed before I post anything, and I have to type up an english gloss (word by word translation with indicators for verb tense, noun case, and other such things as that) that is understandable to people that aren't me.

But before I do that, I have to do one more thing for the USSR project, send instructions to my group members about the activity and type up an intro for the activity (and maybe a question to open the discussion period afterward). So I'll be off to go do that right now (and go to my dad's [holy shit I used a lot of brackets in this {and nested ones too}]).
